Throwing parties and helping people has always been one of my favorite things to do, so in early 2018 a friend and I decide to start event company called HJL Events and do just that. Over the course of 2 years before the pandemic we worked with over 15 couples to help their dream wedding come to life. I was the creative designer for the company, which included working closely with the brides on their vision and execution of all the creative components on the day of. With most brides I was there from beginning to end, putting together floral arrangements and bouquets, creating décor, signage, and anything else they needed. What I loved about this job was that it enabled me to come up with new and creative solutions for each event and create amazing things with my hands. My favorite part though was the actual day of set up and seeing the vision come to life and the joy on the couples faces as they experience their big day.
